For raw black metal this is the album I would now give people to introduce the genre. The cover will either draw or repel you, and then the music will have the same effect. None of Vide’s material has been quite this good, but Hanging By The Bayou Light is a very hard record to surpass.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names.
